Bathroom Tile Installation Made Easy

If you are concerned about installing tile in your bathroom, then you should know that the job is not that hard if you take the necessary steps and fully prepare for it.  You will want to make sure that you have all the necessary tools and materials for the job before you get started.

When it comes to choosing a pattern for bathroom tile
bathroom tile installationinstallation, you can either go with separate tiles if they are larger, or something with a mesh mounted backing if you would like the look of smaller tiles.  Either way, you will need to use spacers in between the tiles or between the tile sheets to ensure that your grout lines are all the same width.

You need to install the tiles on the right surface.  It is not wise to put the adhesive directly onto wood or drywall so you can use a substrate or backer board to achieve a good working surface.  Once you have it in place, you should then map out how you’re going to lay your tiles.  Doing this before you mix your adhesive will let you determine whether or not you have enough tiles to complete your bathroom tile installation and give you a chance to see how they will look when they get to the edges of the surface you are working on.

Plan to do the entire job at once.  Bathroom tile installation is a lot less complicated if you can start and finish the adhesive step in the same day.  Put your adhesive on with a notched trowel in smaller patches and then place the tile on the adhesive.  Wiggle the tile around a little so that you make sure the entire back of the tile makes contact.

Once you have completed all of the laying of the tile, you will need to let it set for a period of at least a day.  Once that is done you can then install the grout.  Using a grout float, press the grout into the seams at a 45° angle making sure that there are no gaps.  Wipe away any large amounts of excess grout with a sponge as you’re doing the job.  There will be a haze on the tiles, but this is fine.  You can wipe that clean after the grout dries.  If you want to slow cure the grout and make sure that it is really strong, continue wetting it for a couple of days.  Your bathroom tile installation project will look great, and if you are well prepared it’s not that difficult.
